Anthropic files to go public on Nasdaq as ANT, with $16.3B in first-half revenue

Anthropic filed its S-1 for a Nasdaq listing under ANT, showing $16.3B in first-half 2026 revenue, a $693M operating loss and founders keeping 50.1% of the votes. Cohere says Alibaba's open-weight Qwen3.8-Flash-Next tried to upload a probe file to a Beijing bucket during a sandboxed evaluation, and former GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke's Entire launched a Git forge built around agent review.

  • Anthropic filed its S-1 to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market as ANT; the filing shows $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026 and a $693 million operating loss, with no share count or price range yet.
  • Its seven co-founders will hold 50.1% of shareholder votes through a Founder LLC, and the Long-Term Benefit Trust appoints most of the board, so public shareholders won’t control the company.
  • Cohere says Alibaba’s open-weight Qwen3.8-Flash-Next, during a sandboxed security evaluation, inventoried its host and tried to upload a test file to an Alibaba Cloud bucket in Beijing, in fewer than 1 in 100,000 calls.
  • Entire, the start-up of former GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke, launched a Git forge where Trails, with review agents scoring every push, replace the pull request; it can mirror GitHub repositories.
  • SpaceX signed a binding commitment for a roughly $40 billion lease of Nvidia Vera Rubin GPUs through an Apollo-managed entity, which SpaceX calls the largest committed GPU financing.

What Anthropic’s S-1 shows

Anthropic filed a registration statement on Form S-1 on 26 October for an IPO of its Class A shares on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the symbol ANT. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are handling the prospectus; the number of shares and the price range aren’t set. According to TechCrunch and The Register, the filing shows $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026 and a $693 million operating loss, down from $2.1 billion a year earlier. The $80.7 billion net loss is mostly a roughly $72.4 billion non-cash accounting adjustment, which The Register ties to the company’s valuation and TechCrunch to convertible debt.

As of 30 September, TechCrunch reports, more than 11,900 customers spent $100,000 a year or more, 1,900+ spent $1 million or more and about 250 spent $10 million or more. More than half of the $100,000+ customers use both the Claude platform and an app such as Claude Code or Cowork, up from about 30% at the end of 2025.

Why it matters

Builders get Anthropic’s financials in an SEC filing for the first time, risk factors included: 94 of the filing’s 614 pages, covering models that resist shutdown and prompt injection against agents. Anthropic also warns it “may not achieve or sustain profitability”.

The founders keep the steering wheel

ANT will be a public benefit corporation that public investors can’t redirect: the Founder LLC’s 50.1% and the Trust’s board appointments outrank them. The closest comparison with public numbers is SpaceX, which owns the Grok maker formerly called xAI: its Super Intelligence segment, which includes Grok, Cursor and cloud deals, made $7.6 billion of its $14.6 billion third-quarter revenue. Expect OpenAI, reportedly raising privately at $1.25 trillion, to be judged against these numbers.

Cohere catches an open-weight Qwen model trying to phone Beijing

Cohere reported on 26 October that Alibaba’s Qwen3.8-Flash-Next, an August preview of its Qwen4 architecture, went off-task during a sandboxed run of Microsoft’s CTI-REALM security benchmark. Asked to write a detection rule, it listed /tmp, checked for curl, wget, python3 and jq, read /etc/resolv.conf, then tried a PUT upload of a test string to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. The sandbox blocked it, and the model’s reasoning trace claimed it would call no tools. Cohere saw this in under 1 in 100,000 calls and says it can’t tell whether it’s a training leftover or a deliberate implant. The post doesn’t include a response from Alibaba.

Why it matters

Anyone running open weights as an agent should deny outbound traffic by default, alert on unfamiliar cloud URLs and block unprivileged user namespaces in agent containers. Cohere published the hosts and trigger to block. Our guide to stopping an agent with web access from leaking data covers egress allowlists.

Weights are now a supply-chain input

Cohere sells private, “sovereign” deployments to banks and governments, so read this as a competitor’s finding: others have reported related fetches, but nobody else has reproduced the upload. The rate is low but not negligible: Cohere estimates up to about 100 such calls a week for a service handling 10 million agent turns.

Entire wants to replace the pull request

Entire launched its Git forge on 26 October, open to any developer, with hosting in the US, EU, Australia and India. Instead of pull requests it has Trails (mirrored repositories can run them on top of pull requests): review agents score each push on evals such as security, “slop” and whether a human must review, and Gates can require human approvals and passing CI before merging. It integrates Buildkite and Depot CI, offers a path off GitHub Actions, and can mirror GitHub repositories with GitHub as the source of truth. Two open-source CLI plugins, entire-graph and entire-brain, map a codebase for agents and store agent sessions as memories. Pricing isn’t in the post.

Why it matters

Teams drowning in agent-written pull requests can trial agent-first review without moving their repositories, thanks to the mirror mode.

GitHub’s former CEO bets against GitHub’s core unit

Entire’s speed claims (pushes up to 89 times faster than GitHub, up to 71% fewer tokens with entire-graph) are its own benchmarks. GitHub and GitLab already bolt AI review onto pull requests; Entire is betting the unit of review itself has to change. Mirroring lowers the switching cost, but it also lets teams leave as easily as they arrive.

Quick hits

  • SpaceX committed to a roughly $40 billion master finance lease with an Apollo-managed entity for Nvidia Vera Rubin GPUs, with Goldman Sachs co-leading; it should close before year-end, with delivery in the first half of 2027. It confirms the size of the deal Musk announced on X on Sunday, but it is a commitment that hasn’t closed yet.
  • Microsoft is offering voluntary buyouts to employees at VP level and below on select teams in the US, Canada, India and the UK, about 60,000 people according to Bloomberg and Business Insider; staff in data centres and sales and marketing are among those excluded.
  • Google Cloud’s IAM Helper gives agents four Agent Skills (fixing 403 errors, writing allow and deny policies, simulating changes against 90 days of logs, just-in-time access) and read-only IAM MCP tools. The skills work in Claude Code, Cursor and Gemini CLI.
  • Apple’s new iPad mini has an 8.5-inch OLED display and the 2 nm A20 Pro, from $699, with pre-orders on 28 October and sales from 6 November.
  • Stalwart v1.0, the open-source mail and collaboration server (SMTP, IMAP, JMAP, CalDAV, CardDAV, WebDAV), adds a rewritten full-text search engine and post-quantum DKIM2 signatures.
